Flash Point Process Analyzer

BHB provides a wide range of physical properties analyzers for the chemical and petrochemical industries and refineries.

The flash point is defined as the lowest temperature at which application of an ignition source causes the vapour of a specimen of the sample to ignite under specified conditions of test.

The on-line Flash Point Analyzer is intended to automatically analyse the Flash Point of liquid petrochemical products, for monitoring the quality of the productive process as well as the compliance with the obligatory specifications for petrochemicals.

With the possibility of simultaneously analysing products from three sources or two sources and a flow validation, this analyser is usually provided in an integrated solution for applications in the chemical and petrochemical industries and refineries.

MEASURING PRINCIPLE:

  • Catalytic Reaction.

COMMON APPLICATIONS:

  • Quality monitoring of the production process and compliance with the jet fuel obligatory specifications;
  • Establishment of the ignition specification for liquid fuels such as diesel and fuel oil;
  • Determination of the potential risks in handling and storage of liquid fuels such as the explosion risk or fire hazard;
  • Contamination detection light ends;
  • Monitoring pickling processes.

KEY FEATURES:

  • Robust and resistant measuring cell design;
  • No coking of the measuring cell by catalytic reaction;
  • Possibility of simultaneously analysing products from three sources or two sources and a validation flow;
  • Possibility of personalizing the analysis particularly the specific parameters of each product;
  • Integrated failure diagnosis and self-monitoring;
  • Communication: Modbus/RTU via RS485, RS422 or fiber optic cable, Modbus/TCP via fiber optic cable;
  • Remote access via modem ISDN, Ethernet via fiber optic cable or VPN;
  • In compliance with ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials).

MEASURING RANGE:

  • 30°C to 120 °C; or
  • 80°C to 160°C;
  • Maximum flash point temperature of 160°C.
