Viscosity Process Analyzer

BHB provides a wide range of physical properties anlayzers for the chemical and petrochemical industries and refineries.

The viscosity of a product is calculated in order to monitor the quality of the production process ensuring that its characteristics remain within specification.

The Viscosity Analyzer allows continuous kinematic viscosity measurement, from a capillarity method and applying the law of Hagen-Poiseuille.

As viscosity is highly dependent on temperature, the temperature of the liquid during measurement has to be regulated precisely with minimum variation (0,02 K in accordance with ASTM D 445).

There are three basic temperature variants (20ºC to 60ºC, 41ºC to 60ºC and 61ºC to 100ºC) each of them with two measurement ranges possible (Viscosity 0,7 to 30 cSt and viscosity 10 to 500 cSt).

This Viscosity Analyzer allows the analysis of mineral oils from different sources is provided in an integrated solution for application in the chemical and petrochemical industries and refineries.

MEASURING PRINCIPLE:

  • Measurement by capillarity applying the law of Hagen-Poiseuille.

COMMON APPLICATIONS:

  • Quality monitoring of the production process in order to comply with the obligatory specifications in mineral oils.

KEY FEATURES:

  • Direct and continuous measurement of kinematic viscosity;
  • Calculation and display of dynamic viscosity;
  • Integral measurement of the density;
  • Necessity of Hagenbach correction is eliminated;
  • Direct comparison with laboratory results without any need for conversion;
  • Temperature control and insulation system without oil bath/pumps;
  • Wide range of sample and coolant temperature at analyser inlet;
  • Multi-stream capability;
  • Possibility of personalizing the analysis particularly the specific parameters of each product;
  • Integrated failure diagnosis and self-monitoring;
  • No atmospheric drain required , backpressure at analyser output permitted;
  • Minimum maintenance required;
  • In compliance with ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials).

MEASURING RANGE:

Temperature Variants:

  • 20 to 60°C;
  • 41 to 60°C;
  • 61 to 100°C.

Measuring ranges in each temperature variant:

  • Viscosity within 0,7 cSt to 30 cSt;
  • Viscosity within 10 cSt to 500 cSt.
