Pour Point Process Analyzer

BHB provides a wide range of physical properties analyzers for the chemical and petrochemical industries including refineries.

The Pour Point is an essential physical property in the quality control and production of chemical and petroleum products. It is an indicator of the ability that a lubricant or mineral oil has to flow at low operating temperatures.

To find the Pour Point it is necessary to heat a sample (previously filtered and totally dehumidified) and later on it is cooled, step by step, at 3ºC intervals. The Pour Point is the lowest temperature at which that liquid still flows i.e. the liquid sample solidifies.

The on-line Pour Point Process Analyzer continuously determines the pour point according to the conditions described by the international standards DIN 150 3016 and ASTM D-97, being available in the low temperature version (common in diesel and light gas or similar products) or high temperature (common in fuel, lube, and bunker oils or similar products).
