BHB PROVIDES NH3 MONITORING SYSTEM FOR CIMPOR (PORTUGAL)
Intercement Group awarded BHB the turn-key supply of a Continuous Monitoring System for the Ammonia content in the emissions in one of of the rotary kilns of Souselas Production Center.
In the wake of the strong technical and commercial partnership between the Intercement Group and BHB, Cimpor Souselas ordered a continuous monitoring system for the ammonia content in the emissions of the Kiln II of Souselas Production Center.
BHB installed the renowned in-situ laser technology analyzer, ABB model LS-25, which measuring principle is single-line spectroscopy in the interference of the absorption line. This analyzer allows the monitoring of several components, namely ammonia, in this case, in a range of 0-200 mg/m3.
The system also comprehends an ABB AO2040 control unit, which fuction is to read the measured values in the LS-25 analyzer. In addition, this control unit allows the creation of a communication interface via Ethernet protocol, as well as, via the analogue (2x 4 to 20mA) and binary (for the purge control system) outputs.
To ensure the perfect operation of the equipment, it is necessary to use a purge unit for the analyzer, which prevents the settling of particles in the optical component. This system uses instrument air (free of oil and condensates).
The scope of supply of this turn-key project also included all the required basic engineering, the mechanical and electrical installations, the commissioning and testing of the solution, as well as, the training of the production center operators.
This system will be included in the maintenance contract that BHB already carries out on a daily basis and on a 24H/365days regimen.
