We began by being three and today we are 47. We started by organizing ourselves into two departments and today we are organized into four business areas. Although we have grown organizationally we remain a family SME and as all families, our history is intended to pass to future generations.

Internationalization of the company for the Middle East, in partnership with ALSTOM Norway, by providing a CEMS (Continuous Emission Monitoring System) for SO2, NOx, CO and O2 for the Sohar Refinery, under the ORPIC project.
Supply and start-up of a turn-key project for air quality monitoring and meteorology in the Moatize coal mines (VALE), consisting of three new shelters integrated in the existing Air Quality Monitoring network.
Company’s Internationalization for Angola, with the supply, comissioning and start-up of an ADVANCE CEMAS NDIR analysis system for Angolan cement plant Nova Cimangola.
Supply and start-up of a continuous monitoring system designed for Unit III of Vasilikos Power Plant, in partnership with ALSTOM (Norway). Supply and start-up of a continuous monitoring system for Units I and II of Vasilikos Power Plant.
Company’s Internationalization for Cape Verde, in partnership with AUDIMOBIL, with the supply, comissioning and start-up of a Air Quality Monitoring Mobile Station.
BHB's Integration and Assembly Department moved from the Headquarters facilities to a new industrial unit, with 1.000 m2, in São João da Talha (Lisbon).
In 2011, after the explosion of the Evangelos Florakis Naval Base, a shock wave almost destroyed the Central. Therefore, BHB in partnership with J&P Avax , supplied the turnkey solution for the continuous emissions monitoring system for Units IV and V of Vasilikos Power Plant.
Recognition with distinction from the Innovation Agency (ADI), received for delivering a project to reduce pollutant species systems and CEMS (Continuous Emissions Monitoring Systems).
Internationalization of the company for the Cypriot market in partnership with the engineering company J&P Avax, with the supply, commissioning and start-up of the continuous emissions monitoring system designed for the Vasilikos Power Plant, Unit IV.
Company’s Internationalization for the Brazilian market, with the supply, commissioning and start-up of the emissions monitoring system for the Pecém and Itaqui Power Plants and the supply of Air Quality Monitoring Mobile Stations for the Brazilian multinational, Bunge (VALE).
With the continuous growth of the industrial maintenance activities (with 9 operations of technical assistance and more than 20 employees) an organic redefinition of the company arises with a fourth area of business – Industrial Maintenance.
Supply, commissioning and start-up of the continuous emissions monitoring systems for the Madrid incinerator (TIR MADRID), which is a project of special relevance, as it is the largest incinerator of the Iberian Peninsula.
Recognition of BHB’s R&D activities, with the integration of the company in COTEC Portugal, the notorious business association dedicated to Innovation.
Supply and start-up of all the systems regarding the continuous emissions monitoring for the Azores Islands Power Plants, Caldeirão (S. Miguel) and Belo Jardim (Terceira).
Due to the establishment of technical assistance contracts to the Belo Jardim and Caldeirão Power Plants, BHB proceeded to the opening of an assistance operation in Azores.
Company’s Internationalization for the Egyptian market with the celebration of Technical Assistance Contracts for the Cimpor Group AMCC and ACCC cement plants.
Having detected the potential growth of the markets in AC/DC Secondary Power and Digital Signage, BHB acquired the rights of representation of AEG Power Solutions and AEG/MIS (today BMG MIS).
With the business portfolio growth, BHB decided to perform another organic redefinition of the company. Therefore instead of the previous organization in Departments, it created three distinct business areas - Analytics, Instrumentation and Energy.
Company’s internationalization to the Greek market with the supply, commissioning and start-up of an emissions monitoring system in the Crete Power Plant, in partnership with the Lurgi-Lentjes Group (today property of the Doosan Group).
Certification of the integrated Management System in accordance with the standard norms EN ISO 9001:2000 (Quality) EN ISO140001:2004 (Environment) and OHSAS 18001 (Occupational Health and Safety) from SGS.
Due to the responsibility increase with the technical assistance contract to the Loulé Production Center (Cimpor) and in order to meet the demands of the industries in the Southwest of Spain, BHB created a Service Operation in Faro.
Beginning of the implementation of the integrated system for the Quality, Environmental and Safety Management according to the standard norms ISO 9001:2001, ISO 14001:2004 and OSHAS 18001:1999.
With the increase of the business and the number of technical assistance contracts concentrated in the Leiria region, particularly in the glass, ceramics and cement areas, BHB created the Leiria’s Service Operation with two full time service technicians.
Company’s internationalization for the German market with the supply and start-up of the emission analysis system for the Duisburg Power Plant and the emission analysis system of the Mainova Power Plant (Frankfurt).
Due to the various projects and the technical assistance contracts established in Madeira, BHB decided to create a Service Operation with two full time service technicians.
Company’s internationalization for the Hungarian market with the supply and start-up of the emission measuring system for the Budapest incinerator and the process measurement and emissions system for the Ovosziany Power Plant, in partnership with the Lurgi-Lentjes Group (today property of the Doosan Group).
BHB introduced air quality monitoring solutions in its product portfolio with the representation of the Japanese multinational Horiba, the German multinational Verewa and the Dutch multinational Synspech.
Company’s internationalization for the Dutch market with the supply and start-up of an emission analysis system for E-on Maasviatke, in partnership with the Lurgi-Lentjes Group (today property of the Doosan Group).
Under the partnership established with Lochard, BHB held the installation, start-up and maintenance of the noise monitoring systems of all Portuguese international airports.
BHB introduced noise monitoring solution in its product portfolio with the representation of the Australian multinational Lochard, currently held by the Danish multinational Bruel & Kajer.
With the increase of the number of technical assistance contracts, due to the high industrial concentration in the North of Portugal, BHB proceeded to the opening of a delegation near Oporto, particularly in Perafita, with five full time service technicians.
With the increase in the number of technical assistance contacts concentrated in the Setúbal peninsula, BHB created an Service Operation in Setúbal, with two full time service technicians.
Company’s internationalization for the Mozambican market begins with the supply and start-up of a Gas Analysis System for the Coal Mills of Cimentos de Moçambique.
Due to the organizational growth and turnover increase, the company expands its facilities to 700 square meters, creating an area exclusively dedicated to the integration and assembling of the systems.
BHB launched a Service Operation in Sines, with the establishment of an Office in the Industrial and Logistic Area of Sines and the placement of two full time Service Technicians.
Celebration of Framework Agreement with the EDP Group to ensure the preventive and corrective maintenance to all EDP Power Plants - at that time the Setúbal, Sines, Barreiro, Carregado, Castelo de Bode and Ribatejo Power Plants.
The increase in the number of technical assistance contracts requires the duplication of the number of employees exclusively dedicated to Industrial Maintenance. Today, 23 of the 45 employees are exclusively dedicated to the Industrial Maintenance Area.
Invited by the Cement Group Cimpor, BHB internationalizes its business by supplying, assembling, starting-up and commissioning the process and analysis systems for the Asment de Temara (Morocco) and Jbel Oust (Tunisia) Cement Plants.
The increase in the turnover and activity level required an organic redefinition of the company leading to the departmentalization of the activities. Therefore, the Analytics and Instrumentation Departments were created.
The increase in the turnover and the new Portuguese market opportunities required the strengthening of the sales force. Simultaneously, the increase in the number of technical assistance contracts required the creation of the industrial maintenance infrastructure in the Analytics Department.
BHB established its first technical assistance contract assuring the preventive and corrective maintenance of almost all the emissions analyzers of the company at that time designated as BOREALIS, today designated as Repsol YPF in SInes - Portugal.
