In 1978 the first portable three gases detector with alarm was presented, the 1641 model, and in 1980 the first pocket size gas detectors - OX-80, CO-80 and HS-80.
The 90s were rich in technology developments with constant innovations, the number of gases that can be detected increased and the size of the detectors itself reduced. So, in 1995 the first portable detector capable of analyzing up to six gases was developed, the EAGLE model, and in 1997 the first wrist watch with a detector incorporated was marketed (GasWatch).
The new millennium arrived with the new records, such as the world’s smallest portable gas detector and the 550.000 units of the GX-2001 model sold by Riken Keiki.
