The German company Verewa, has its genesis in VEREWA Hans Ugowski, CO, established in 1939 in Essen, Germany. In 1958, Verewa patented its first product, a thermostat. In the 60s the first particulate devices (1964) were developed. In 1965, the first particulate detector, the F-703 was launched and in 1989, Verewa developed its first Mercury analyzer, the HM-1400s.

The 90s was marked by the acquisition of Verewa by the DURAG, GmbH Group and the relocation of its facilities from Essen to Hamburg.

The new Millennium was marked by the launching of the dust detector F-904-20 which was updated in 2006 with a vast array of optimizations.

In 2011, the Total Mercury analyzer HM-1400 TRX was launched, according to 15267-3 standards.
