The multinational German company BARTEC originates from Barlian Technik GmbH, established in 1975 by the German, Reinhold A. Barlian. This entrepreneur designed, developed and produced a switch to avoid eventual explosions in gas stations. In 1978, BARTEC is established, and in 1979 opened branches in Belgium and the Netherlands. In 2003 a take-over operation of the company Benke Instrument & Elektro was held and a new company of the group was born: BARTEC-BENKE.

Since then, the company has grown exponentially, currently counting with 10 production units in Germany, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, Norway, Slovenia and China, as well as more than 30 sales units in Europe, America and Asia, and 50 international sales partners.

Currently, the BARTEC group employs a team of more than 1600 employees all over the world and is one of the main suppliers of innovative safety technology.
